The Fire (Regulatory Reform) Safety Order 2005 requires responsible persons to have evacuation procedures for ALL persons in a premises including fire evacuation of disabled people. If disabled persons work or access any part of your building then disabled evacuation procedures will be required. This may be in the form of a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEPS - for disabled persons known to you who work or regularly access your premises) or a Generic Emergency Evacuation Plan (GEEPS - for disabled persons who visit your building who are occassional visitors or are not known to you). It is likely you will need other equipment and training to assist in fire evacuation of disabled people from your premises. This could include EVACUATION CHAIRS and/or EVACUATION SLINGS.
